Introducing DennisJEasters.com
A Resource Built from Experience

DennisJEasters.com came about from thousands of client conversations and nearly twenty years of lived experience in Atenas, Costa Rica. While our clients have changed over the years, the questions they ask have remained remarkably consistent.

At the heart of nearly every inquiry is the same desire: clarity.

In Costa Rica, clarity isn’t always easy to come by. Cultural nuances, evolving laws, inconsistent information, and well-intentioned but incomplete advice can leave people feeling uncertain. From the beginning, our goal has always been to provide accurate, up-to-date information—not to tell people what to think, but to give them the tools to think independently and make informed decisions.

We’ve learned that while step-by-step guides can be helpful, clients who are exposed to a broader range of credible information—and real-world context—tend to transition more smoothly into life in Costa Rica.

That insight became the foundation of this site.

Who Is DennisJEasters.com for?

In short: everyone.

  • The curious explorer dreaming of a future escape, winter home, or retirement abroad

  • The long-term planner who enjoys understanding the details before making decisions

  • Buyers who are interested but not yet ready to act

  • Homeowners seeking updates on markets, regulations, and local life

  • Investors exploring opportunities and long-term strategies

At their core, nearly everyone who visits the site is a lifestyle seeker—someone looking for something deeper, more intentional, and more aligned with how they want to live.

Sometimes that means a home.
Sometimes it simply means peace of mind.

What You’ll Find on the Site

The Newsletter

For years, clients encouraged us to start a newsletter. While I liked the idea, I often found newsletters too long, visually uninspiring, and easy to ignore. With the launch of DennisJEasters.com, the timing finally felt right.

Our monthly newsletter is designed to be concise, visual, and purposeful—featuring insights, select listings, market trends, and occasional feature articles that reflect life and real estate in Atenas and Costa Rica.

The Pura Vida Buyer’s Guide

This A–Z guide walks readers through the Costa Rican home-buying process, offering a clear overview of what to expect. It’s designed to reduce uncertainty, set realistic expectations, and help buyers navigate transactions with confidence and clarity.

The Atenas Resource Guide

An old-fashioned directory—think telephone book style—featuring local businesses and essential services in Atenas. This guide is updated annually and remains one of the most requested resources we provide.

Articles & Essays

While DennisJEasters.com leans toward lifestyle-focused writing, readers also have access to over 100 articles published through PLD Atenas Realty over nearly two decades. These pieces reflect hands-on experience, evolving market insight, and the realities of living and owning property in Costa Rica.

Listings

Listings appear on the site to provide context—not pressure. DennisJEasters.com is not a listing portal. When appropriate, the site redirects readers to PLD Atenas Realty for full inventory and detailed property information.

How the Site Is Meant to Be Used

This site is designed to be explored slowly and intentionally.

It’s not a high-pressure sales pitch or a funnel demanding immediate action. It’s a growing resource—one you may want to bookmark, revisit, or share with friends and family who are also curious about Costa Rica.

To access downloadable guides and PDFs, we do request an email address—but only so we can deliver valuable information directly to you, not to overwhelm your inbox.

Our Philosophy

DennisJEasters.com is not about quick transactions.

Those who know Gerardo and me understand that has never been our style. We can’t—and won’t—convince someone to buy something they don’t want.

What we do exceptionally well is provide quality information, grounded in experience, so you can move forward with confidence—whether that decision is months, years, or simply a deeper understanding away.
